About Us

Mariners for Action (MFA) Conservation was founded with the purpose of enhancing sustainable utilization of marine and aquatic ecosystems, resources, and their derivatives, and combating poverty among the youth and the community in general. The organization was established in response to critical environmental challenges, including the widespread capture of sea turtles, illegal mangrove logging, and the use of destructive fishing methods. These activities have severely impacted the health of the marine environments and the economic stability of local communities. MFA aims to address these issues by promoting conservation practices, restoring damaged ecosystems, and providing alternative livelihoods to reduce the dependency on exploitative practices.

Vision

Mariners for Action CBO envisions flourishing and robust marine ecosystems, where local communities actively engage in sustainable practices, benefit from conservation efforts and contribute to marine scientific research. This involves preserving biodiversity, fostering sustainable resource management and ensuring that future generations inherit a well-researched healthier and balanced ocean environment

Mission

Our mission is to unite communities in safeguarding marine ecosystems through a collective approach that embraces sustainable practices, environmental education and active participation. We aspire to empower local collaboration, advocate for responsible resource management and conduct impactful marine scientific research. Together, we envision resilient oceans where communities thrive, biodiversity flourishes and sustainability is achieved.
